SWIMMING.
HIGH SCHOOL AQUATIC SPORTS.
The members of the Sydney High School Swimming Club held their first annual aquatic sports meeting and carnival in the natutorium last evening. There was a good attendance and the competitions were mostly very keen. The band connected with the Glebe Public School was in attendance and livened matters by their capable rendition of various seleetions. Mr. R. Forsyth, hon secretary, was responsible for the arrangements which were very complete. He also acted as starter. Mr. J. F. Elphinston, B.A., was judge, and Mr. A. Stewart B.A., time-keeper. During the evening some interesting exhibition swimming took place. Mr. H. A. Wylie, accomplished a long distance dive, and Mr. M. Newton showed what could be done in the direction of plunging. Messrs. E. Pryor and W. Whereat gave an exhibition on Roman rings. Messrs. Cavill, Walker and Wylie performed several natatorial feats, and Mr. B. A. Stennett who plunged into the water manacled rose to the surface free of all impediments. The following are the results of the various events : —
