The 21st annual sports meeting of the Sydney High School Athletic Club was held on the Sydney Cricket Ground yesterday afternoon. Although the weather was unfavourable, there was a large attendance of parents and friends of the pupils. The following were the results:—
Throwing cricket ball: F. F. Brown 87yds. 1ft., 1; S. Peterson, 2.
Long jump (School Cup): E. Southee 17ft. 6in., 1; J. D. Herlihy, 2.
Kicking the football: E. A. Southee 52yds. 1ft. 3in., 1: J. H. Pike, 2; M. Moore, 3.
Championship of school, 100yds.: First heat, J. D. Herlihy, 1, H. Wenholz 2; second heat, R. B. Bush 1, J. B. T. M’Kenzie 2; third heat, J. H. Pike 1, M. Moore 2; fourth heat, J. O'Ryan 1, A. C. R. Todd 2; final, Todd 1, Herlihy and O'Ryan tied for second. The time was stated at 10 2-5sec.
Tug of war: Won by IV. A team.
