Annual sports meeting, 2 October 1903
The Daily Telegraph, 3 October 1903, p 18:
The eighteenth annual sports meeting of the Sydney High School Amateur Athletic Club was held on the Sydney Cricket Ground yesterday. There was a fairly large attendance, and special trams ran to the ground. The judging was carried out by Messrs. G. Saxby, B.A., W. Moore, B.A., J. Williams, B.A., and C. R. Smith, M.A. Mr. A. J. Studdy, B.A., acted as starter, and the hon secretary, Mr. J. L. Bush, admirably managed the general arrangements.
The Australian Star, 3 October 1903, p 8:
There was a fair attendance of spectators, and some good sport was witnessed. The Bavarian Band, under the baton of Mr. J. Hubrich, played selections of music on the lawn during the afternoon.
The management was good, and may be congratulated, particularly in having a walk on the programme, and every school and college in the State should follow the example. Nothing of much moment occurred, the performance of H. Searle with the cricket ball (94yds) being as good as any during the afternoon. The ex-students' race fell to J. G. Bissett, of the West Sydney A.A.C., who is showing a return to form. W. Nimmo annexed the 100yds Championship of the School in 11 2/5 sec.
